Jewelry Care

How should I care for my jewelry?

We put great care into designing and creating your jewelry, and you can keep it just as beautiful with a few simple tips:

  • Clean gently: Wipe off makeup and skin oils after each wear with a soft, 100% cotton cloth.
  • Store separately: Use a jeweler’s cloth or soft pouch so pieces don’t scratch each other.
  • Avoid chemicals: Chlorine, bleach, perfumes, and lotions can damage metals and softer stones. Remove jewelry before swimming or hot tubs.
  • Clean with care: Use mild soap + warm water for sterling silver. For tarnish, use a non-abrasive cleaner and fresh 100% cotton cloth. Never use toothpaste.
  • Protect stones: Pearls, opals, turquoise, lapis, and other soft gems need extra care — wrap them individually in jeweler’s cloth.
  • Skip ultrasonic cleaners: They can damage gemstones and loosen settings.

Note: Fashion and plated jewelry will naturally wear over time, but the same care tips apply.

Can I wear my jewelry every day?

Many of our pieces are designed to be lived in — from diamond bands to signature hoops and studs. Solid gold and diamonds will hold up beautifully to everyday wear. That said, jewelry is not indestructible. Gemstone pieces, pavé settings, and custom designs with fine details should be worn more mindfully to avoid unnecessary wear. We always recommend removing your jewelry before swimming, exercising, or applying lotions and perfumes to keep it looking its best for years to come.

Materials & Sizing

What materials do you use?

At Stacy Nolan we believe three main factors contribute to our high standards of quality and excellence: raw materials, style and design, and craftsmanship. This is why we use only the best materials and craftsmen when making our unique, custom designs.

All Stacy Nolan jewelry is nickel-free. Why is this important? Nickel is an alloy commonly used in white gold, but it is also a common allergen. Instead of nickel, in our 14 and 18 karat white gold we use palladium, an alternative alloy that is a bit heavier than nickel. Not only is palladium white gold considered a precious metal, but it is naturally hypoallergenic and it holds its white color better. We work with all precious metals including 14 and 18 karat gold as well as platinum.

Most importantly, all of our precious metals and gemstones are ethically sourced. In an effort to combat human exploitation, environmental damage, and the devastation of conflict or blood diamonds we are committed to finding high-quality, raw materials that are guaranteed to be ethically sourced. The gemstones and precious metals used by Stacy Nolan are free from violence, abuse, and human rights violations, and are produced with minimal impact to the environment.

When choosing a diamond, in addition to the source of the diamond, we are also keenly aware of the Four Cs of diamond quality: carat, color, clarity, and cut. A diamond’s sparkle, brilliance, beauty, and value weigh heavily on these four standards. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about our diamonds and other gemstones as well as help you choose loose stones.

We are also proud that we maintain production in the U.S.A. Because we put so much thought and care into each of our designs we choose to honor them with the same level of attention to detail in their manufacturing. We work with the best goldsmiths and craftsmen to hand craft all of our designs. In doing so, we support local businesses, help reduce our environmental footprint, and foster a time-honored, American tradition of craftsmanship.

How do I determine my ring size?

We offer these handy ring sizers- if you are working with us on a custom or made to order project, we will send you a complimentary ring sizer.

Here are a few tips to help you find your correct ring size:

If you already have a ring that fits then order that same size All of our rings run true to US standard size (within +/- a quarter size). It is your responsibility to make sure you've measured your finger size properly.

Temperature is important Don't measure when your body temperature is either too cold or too hot. A cold finger shrinks while a hot finger expands causing an inaccurate reading. Only measure when fingers are at room temperature.

A wider band needs a bigger size Rings with a particularly thick band (the knuckle to knuckle height) will feel tighter than a thin band; in these cases, we recommend buying a full size larger than your normal ring size.

Big knuckles can affect your size Your ring should fit snugly over the knuckle. If your knuckle is a lot larger than the base of your finger, measure both the base of your finger and your knuckle and select a size in between the two.

Gifts can be tricky If you are buying a gift, the best way - but not always the easiest way - to determine the size is to borrow a ring from the recipient (from the correct finger) and try it on your own hand. Mark the spot on your finger where it fits and then measure that size.

We do offer half and quarter sizes on some of our rings Certain rings are available in half and quarter sizes. If you would like to order one, please note in your order at check out.

Free Resizing Stacy Nolan provides complimentary within the manufacturer's recommended sizing range, during the first year. Simply contact us at repairs@stacynolan.com to arrange for your free resize. You will be responsible for the cost of returning the product, according to our return policy.

Diamond and gemstone eternity rings with a specific number of gemstones per finger size; milgrain or ornate bands, some silver rings, or rings with alternative metals such as Tungsten cannot be resized.

If you’re unsure… ask for help.
The above is a guide only. When in doubt get a professional measurement from a local jeweler. Stacy Nolan is not responsible if you order the wrong size.

How do I choose the right huggie earring size?

Our Signature Huggie Hoops come in four sizes (9mm, 11mm, 13mm, and 15mm), each designed to fit differently depending on ear shape and placement. The 9mm and 11mm hug the lobe closely for a minimal everyday look, while the 13mm and 15mm offer a little more space and movement. You can view our full Huggie Size Guide for side-by-side comparisons and model photos to help you find your perfect fit.

Orders

How long does it take to receive my order?

Ready-to-ship pieces usually leave our studio within 1–3 business days (excluding weekends). Made-to-order styles vary: if we are adjusting a stock piece to your size, it may take 1–2 weeks. For fully made-to-order designs, please allow 4–6 weeks. If you need something sooner, contact us and we’ll do our best to accommodate expedited delivery.

Can I make changes after placing an order?

In most cases, we can accommodate small adjustments if you reach out within 24 hours of placing your order. After that, production may have begun, and changes may not be possible. Please contact us as soon as possible and we’ll review options together.

Shipping & Delivery

What should I expect with delivery?

Every piece is carefully packaged and fully insured until it reaches you. Orders over $500 require a signature at delivery. Orders received after 1 PM PST are processed the following business day. We ship primarily with UPS and FedEx, but if you prefer an alternate carrier, our team will happily make arrangements.

What are your shipping rates?

We offer complimentary shipping on all U.S. orders over $2,500. Standard UPS or FedEx rates apply to all other orders. Local delivery is also available within Los Angeles upon request.

Can I request expedited shipping or special arrangements?

Absolutely. Whether your piece is for an engagement or another special occasion, we’re flexible. We can expedite delivery, ship to an alternate address, or coordinate a surprise. Once your item is ready, we’ll reach out by email or text to schedule shipping. For personal assistance, you can also call 310-504-2200 to speak with a jewelry concierge.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We currently ship to Canada and Mexico with secure, insured delivery. Shipping rates, duties, and taxes are the responsibility of the recipient, and transit times may vary based on customs clearance. Please note that the recipient is the importer of record and must comply with all regulations of the destination country. For returns, the purchaser is considered the exporter and is responsible for compliance with return shipping and customs requirements.

What if my package is delayed or lost?

All shipments are fully insured until signed for at delivery. If your package is delayed, damaged, or goes missing in transit, please contact us right away. We’ll open a claim with the carrier on your behalf and guide the resolution process. Claims typically take 8–10 business days to complete, and replacements can only be issued once the carrier has finalized the claim.

Returns & Exchanges

What is your return policy?

We accept returns of unworn, undamaged jewelry within 10 business days of delivery for exchange or store credit. Made-to-order, custom, and personalized pieces are final sale. For all returns, we provide a prepaid insured shipping label to ensure safe delivery. The cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund or store credit.

Can I exchange a piece for another?

Yes. If your jewelry is in original condition and within the 10-day window, we’re happy to arrange an exchange. We’ll provide a prepaid insured shipping label to make the process simple and secure. The cost of return shipping will be deducted from your exchange balance. Once your piece has been received and inspected, we’ll help you select a new item and provide tracking details when it’s on its way.

Repairs

Do you offer repairs?

Yes. We stand behind the craftsmanship of every piece. Jewelry purchased directly from Stacy Nolan includes complimentary repairs for one year. After that time, or for repairs outside the scope of normal wear, a fee may apply. Clients are responsible for shipping costs associated with all repairs.

How long do repairs take?

Standard repairs typically take 6–8 weeks. Please note that rush repairs are not available. If your repair is time-sensitive, contact us — we’ll guide you through your options.

What do I need to know before sending in a repair?

Warranty for repair is void if the item has been altered, sized, or repaired by another jeweler prior to being sent to us. If your jewelry was purchased through one of our approved retailers and is damaged within one year of purchase, please contact the retailer directly to coordinate the repair.

How do I request a repair?

Email us at repairs@stacynolan.com to begin the process. A client care representative will contact you within 2 business days with instructions and a prepaid insured shipping label. The cost of shipping will be the client’s responsibility, but we ensure safe, insured transit both ways. Once your repair is complete, we’ll provide tracking details for its return.

Custom & On-Approval

How does your on-approval program work?

Select pieces may be shipped to you for a 48-hour preview at home. A temporary hold is placed on your card and released if items are returned in original condition; if kept, we simply capture the payment.

Return shipping costs depend on the piece’s value.

How does the custom process work?

Custom projects begin at $2,500 when altering an existing design, and $5,000 for fully bespoke pieces. We offer a range of packages that include design directions, CAD renderings, prototypes, and bespoke packaging — all tailored to your heirloom’s next chapter.

To get started, we ask for a 50% deposit. If you're mailing in heirloom materials, we’ll provide a fully insured shipping label with step-by-step instructions for sending them to us safely.

Most projects take approximately 8 weeks from the time we receive your materials.

For pieces that include gold, we offer a credit for any unused metal, calculated at the market rate when your items are dismantled. You’ll receive an estimate based on the weight of your materials during our intake.
