Most aren't aware that January's birthstone comes in an array of colors -- but, it does! Garnets are found all over the world in colors ranging from the dark red hue that everyone knows them for to blues and greens and this lovely firey orange tone, known as the spessartine (or spessartite) garnet. Some garnets even show a color changing phenomenon from purples to greens. It's a super cool stone you should know about!
So, when our customer brought us a necklace she's had since childhood, she was unaware of how beautiful this stone could be. We set it in a heavy high carat gold to bring out even more of the vibrance. Lifted up in prongs allows the light to pass through from the sides.
